New Places, New Treasures...Always an adventure!
Traveling is something i really enjoy doing. It’s not just visiting beautiful and interesting places, but also the treasures along the way. Treasures can be a spectatular site along the roadside that takes your breath away, a small quaint business that opens your imagination when you enter, or finding that old coin that has been buried, waiting to be discovered. Travel with me as we uncover these treasures along our adventures.
Travel History
This year as we escape the furnace temperatures of Las Vegas, we will be going through the gold country of California. Then up to the Oregon and Washington coasts. There will be many of stops and stories along the way.
Peanut Treasure Jar
Follow the story of the peanut treasure jar and what we find and post on a weekly basis. The treasures include coins found, metal detecting treasures, and miscellaneous items picked up on my journey.

1. The Churchill County Museum
Located in Fallon Nevada, this museum has so much to see. Learn about the Indians that used to call this area home, the building of the dam, what life was like through the years, and much more. Plan on spending a day there!
2. The Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park
There is the museum with 3 movies about the area and how the finding of gold affected it. Buildings and historical markers line the road. Pan for gold in the American river, on the property. The wild deer and geese are seen on the grounds. And the park rangers are there to help with any questions. It is a must see!
3. The American River
Want to relax? The American River is the place to be. Surrounded by the hills and nature, this river is spectacular. You can sit and listen to as the soothing sounds put you to sleep, jump in for a swim, or get adventurous with one of the local rafting companies that run the river. I’m sure you’ll find something fun to do!
